@brittonadventure: Japan was one of our favourite countries, but if we did it again, we’d spend more on accommodation. We tried to keep costs down in Tokyo and chose a budget apartment. The problem? Japan is BUSY. We were walking miles every day, navigating train stations, crowds, and sensory overload. By the end of the day, we all wanted somewhere comfortable to switch off, but our apartment was tiny with no view and really just somewhere to sleep. If you’re travelling Japan with kids, I’d personally just take the hit and put a bit more of the budget towards accommodation. A pool, more space, a view, somewhere to relax… it would’ve made a bigger difference than we expected. #J#JapanWithKidsF#FamilyTravelJ#JapanTravelT#TravelTipsTravellingWithKids

Mum of All Things :
I don’t understand, me and my kids stayed in 4 and 5* hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka with breakfast included and paid less than £1300 for the 15 days we were there. The flights were £2300 for the 3 of us and spending money was £5000 but that was including the Shinkansen JR tickets, universal studios + merch, express passes, Disney + merch, eating out everyday, 3 x teamlabs visits, a boat ride in Arashiyama, monkey park hike, visit almost every temple in Kyoto, bought tons of merch from the pokemon centers, anime museum + merch AND took uber literally everywhere. Plus we did a long layover in Beijing on the way there.

I agree! I travel with my toddler and a spacious and comfortable room is a must. Before I didn’t mind the small sizes of hotel rooms but after having a kid, that changed 😅

we splurged on accomm and each place had a hotel onsen and omg it was worth it. at the end of 30k steps with kids, soaking in the onsen was the best reset

We took an old stroller that our 6 yo was too big for really. Was a god send as we could push her when she got tired as Japan is a walk heavy destination.

ビジネスホテルは単身向けなので子供がいる人は不向きです
アパホテルが人気みたいだけど、あそこは観光客向けのホテルではない

For 2 the cheap accommodations are good. With kids there is lack of space
