It is quite simple. This area used to be river and swap. These are just village by the river. Until earth temperature rises and river dried out. Now we are standing on cliff that used to be just river bank

The cliff dwellings don’t appear to be able to host enough people to say they moved there. Would be great to hear what evidence you’re going off of to theorize this. It makes for great and spooky imaginative speculation but lets be real.

It reminds me of the grain, potato, and corn storage cliff side structures I saw while in Peru. They’d store on breezy hillside for preserving the food.
