Mina :
How am I supposed to take a book seriously if it was compiled 200 to 250 years after the Prophet’s death? That makes me very skeptical.
Of course, some parts of it could be true, but who can say that with 100% certainty?
There are Shiite hadith scholars, and there are Sunni hadith scholars. Sometimes Shiites cite Sunni sources, and sometimes they rely on their own texts. So sometimes it’s one way, sometimes another.
Nothing is 100% certain. Fortunately, we’re not perfect beings. That means nothing we do can ever be perfect. At best, our efforts can be judged positively, but absolute certainty or perfection is impossible for us.
That’s why there is a lot of room for mistakes, interpretations, and different actions.
People can keep debating and trying to piece things together however they want, but it doesn’t really lead anywhere. For years, it has been the same back and forth, again and again.
And unfortunately, the saying is true: people don’t learn from history.
But maybe that’s just how things are
