Apple Cider Vinegar recipe 👇🏻👇🏻 I can’t be the only house that looks like a half eaten apple graveyard?! Here’s my favorite way to make sure they don’t go to waste. This is also a huge cost saver. To buy a gallon of ACV from the grocery store it would cost $30+ so I love this inexpensive option instead. Here’s the steps: Dissolve 1 cup of sugar in warm water Add scraps from 5-6 apples to your gallon size jar (you’ll want to use more of its truly just scraps, most my apples had a decent amount left on them) just make sure you have a few cups worth. Fill your gallon size container 2/3 the way with filtered water Add dissolved sugar mixture Add 1 cup previous batch ACV (or store bought) Mix and cover with the “mother” if you have one If not, one will begin forming in your first batch and grow larger every time. Cover and place in a dark place for 3-4 weeks before straining your apples. It’s vinegar so you really can’t “over” ferment it *THE most important step!!!!!!! - stir your apples daily during fermentation period OR use a fermenting weight to make sure they’re submerged in the liquid. If they are exposed to air for a long period of time they WILL mold. But if they stay submerged in the vinegar they will ferment beautifully. Happy fermenting! #ferments #fermentation #homesteading #homesteadingmama #simpleliving #naturalliving #fromscratch #fyp
