I actually went through a terrible time financially after getting divorced and was nearly broke for 5 years. I shared this with some but when I was back on my feet and doing well a couple of the ones who were aware of my awful time were actually hating on me for getting a new car and being able to enjoy life to the full again. I actually heard one of their friends saying that my success was really pissing them off. Being the type of person who always wants the best for others I thought that this was the natural default setting for other people but I was completely incorrect. I tell nobody, now, when things are going well, how sad it is that I had to adopt this attitude.
