@fisherzhangs_in_china: I'm not at all surprised that my parents were so impressed with the Chinese high-speed trains — this is always one of the main things that shocks foreigners (in a good way) when they come to China. But what might surprise my parents even more is just how many other things will amaze them just as much during the two months they'll be here.

because it is not bumpy, passengers feel nothing, as if it is not moving. simple. just look outside n see how the objects like houses etc fly by quickly ... that will give u a sense of its speed
