My mom just passed away a week ago, she had been on hospice for the last 8 months. I was her ONLY family caregiver with minimal help from my spouse. Both of us work and have fulltime jobs but would trade off covering care during the day. At night I was her fulltime caregiver. It was exhausting both mentally & physically. I have two sisters & two brothers who refused to help with her care and couldn't even give me a weekend of respite. I gave her medications, breathing treatments, dressing changes, bathing, and all activities of daily living. Our days were very routine. I am struggling to sleep at night, I catch myself listening for her even though she is gone.
