@labmuffinbeautyscience: The backstory behind the viral Cerave skincare posts - benzene in skincare products is a massively overblown issue, started by a questionable lab. Lawsuits don’t reflect the actual science a lot of the time. Also weird how CeraVe is singled out when it was never one of the brands with higher benzene… guessing it’s because it’s a popular brand that people recognise, so it’s more likely to go viral? 🤨 Are you sick of Valisure yet? I very much am… #skincare #mythbusting #cerave #benzene
i hate these stories because almost every time its an attention-grabbing headline without real substance or reliable facts.

Thank you for the time you put into evidence-supported analysis!
I use CeraVe daily and even though I understand toxicology and biochemistry, it drains me to see all articles of this nature being fed to me time and time again. I have to stop, review, become emotionally invested and see that there is no substance in the article.
Reminds me of the "NASA articles" about asteroids falling on earth and killing us all twice a week.

Inflammaging & SKiN Health :
The question isn’t whether benzene can cause leukemia—it can. The question is how much exposure increases risk but, that does not mean lower exposures are automatically safe. Most experts believe the risk generally increases with cumulative exposure over time. That’s why physicians often recommend minimizing unnecessary benzene exposure whenever possible, especially if you have a strong family history of leukemia or other blood cancers...or concerned about cancer as most of us are. I have seen first hand how this type of leukemia takes a person within months so I don't recommend you downplay the risks.

Literally just saw a doctor saying the exact opposite of what you’re saying, that they found 100 times the approved levels and that they found it was activated by heat, but the heat could be as low as skin temperature

My differin benzoyl peroxide is my go-to for my fungal acne at the back of my neck and I live in Singapore. Hot and humid all year round. The slowest cleanser to finish too lol.

Avoid that brand anyway because they’re not cruelty free.

Generally, I don’t find “ x company was sued” a good argument to not buy or use a product. Some people sue just to get money

but i feel like this doesn’t apply to chronic use. like it’s basically the same with high fructose corn syrup, it doesn’t affect you negatively but over consumption/ using a product with it can lead to health problems later on,
