@keara.graves: may be controversial but you don’t need to fix the way your body was naturally built 🤷🏻‍♀️ #bodyacceptance #pelvictilt

You are missing the whole point. It can cause serious back pain, and with exercises you can neutralize it, that doesn’t mean you have to check all the time if you are standing correctly, because you fixed it :)

You’re right in just correcting your posture will NOT do anything. You have to do exercises regularly to correct it. And trust me you want to correct it. I’m 36 and I had to stop running, dancing, even walking for a while because I was in so much pain that mostly stemmed from the anterior pelvic tilt. It is a MEDICAL issue

from someone with the same issue: its because we have weak muscles for our core and lower back! it can lead to soooo much pain when we get older so its totally worth it to correct. I've found pilates has helped me alot :)

I'm hypermobile so standing how 'natural' feels for me does not help in the long run as everything is hyperextended and causes me pain, the main thing I find is bending my knees ever so slightly stops me tilting it backwards but feels much more normal than checking my posture all the time, I expect if you stand like that and aren't hypermobile it could still cause back pain in the long run though

i have that too but unfortunately it is bad for your back😭 it means your back muscles aren’t strong enough to hold your spine in a neutral position and that creates health problems in the long run! i was doing a lot of exercises for scoliosis and it helped a ton, truly life changing🫡

So as a physiotherapist, an anterior pelvic tilt causes weaker abdominal muscles, and places more pressure on the lower back. Not everyone will experience negative symptoms from this, and that's fine! But it does increase the risk of lower back pain, especially later on in life. And generally increases risk of injury mainly due to the weaker core. However, it's not a case of constantly trying to correct your posture, you're right that's not realistic and it wouldn't even help. If you wanted to fix it, you'd need to do core and glute strength exercises.

as someone who is dealing is serious back issues and is potentially facing back surgery, don't ignore or underestimate the benefits of a good posture just bc you had a cranky posture forever does not mean it's normal and having an excessive pelvic tilt it puts strain on your lower back and causes problems

37 now, and I can’t play soccer because I can’t run like that because of the pelvic tilt puts too much pressure on the lower back. Eventually it will f you up.

I would agree with you if anterior pelvic tilt wasn't linked to lower back pain. I'm working on my core to improve my back pain and fix this at the same time. You back needs support!!
