I've changed my mind. The "I never learned that" is way different the "They haven't told/showed that". You may explain a 100 times something and the other part still not learning/understanding it. It ain't your fault.

I had a guy cover for me when I wen on 2 week vacation last year. Trained him, sent a super detailed handover email, repeatedly told him to go ask another colleague if he's not sure. Our manager was willing to help as well. Came back and turns out he messed things up. A lot. When confronted, he said the thing he messed up was not part of the training. Well, jokes on you, because I keep notes, as well as it was written in the handover email, all bold and underlined.
