@anasavu: You knew this rant was coming hahah 👀☕️ I know this is quite a controversial one here in the US, it might make sense here, but it doesn’t make sense quite literally anywhere else 😅 And don’t tell me “you’d only understand if you worked in hospitality” because I did, I worked in a bar/restaurant in Italy and in waffle and coffee shops in England. A tip was always appreciated yes, but never expected, and it most definitely wouldn’t be based on the total bill amount! As servers, we would get a living wage from our employers, that’s it, that’s the simple solution.. haha like I don’t know if I’m missing something but I just can’t stand the phrases “if you can’t afford to tip, you shouldn’t eat out” or :)) but maybe I’m just coming with an attitude from the rest of the world and have to adapt to the ways here 😅😅😅

We were in nyc last week and we ate at applebees and the server did not deserve a good tip (based on our experience). My partner said don’t give him any but I gave $2 😂 THE SERVER WAS NOT HAPPY AND DID NOT EVEN SAID THANK U! 😂 The tip amount was also bec the food was not good. My poor bacon cheeseburger did not even have a sauce on it. 😂
