Footage aired by state-run broadcaster KRT showed players from Naegohyang Women’s FC and North Korea’s U-17 women’ team cheering and crying as they met Kim. Kim and other officials later watched a friendly match between the two teams. Naegohyang Women’s FC won the AFC Women’s Champions League in May after beating Tokyo Verdy Beleza, becoming the first North Korean athletes to visit South Korea in eight years.
