Mejibray was a Japanese visual kei rock band that came together on June 18, 2011, in Tokyo, founded by their vocalist Tsuzuku and signed to the independent label White Side Group. The band initially emerged as a solo project from Tsuzuku, who was previously the frontman for the band VanessA under the name Genki, but it quickly evolved into a full group within three months, officially launching with a lineup that included Tsuzuku on vocals, MiA and Ippu on guitars, Koichi on bass, and Meto on drums. Ippu, however, departed from the band shortly thereafter in October 2011, solidifying Mejibray as the core four-piece unit for the remainder of its active career. Their musical style is best described as a dark, heavy, and melodic fusion of heavy metal and hard rock, which also incorporates significant elements from other aggressive genres such as metalcore, djent, and nu-metal, resulting in a sound that is both technically intricate and atmospherically intense. Over the course of their six-year active period, which spanned from 2011 until the band's activities were effectively suspended at the very end of 2017, Mejibray built a substantial and dedicated fanbase, both within Japan and internationally, particularly through their powerful and often theatrical live performances. Their discography includes several notable releases that charted on the Japanese Oricon charts, such as the full-length studio albums

The band's career trajectory came to an unexpected halt on December 31, 2017, when their management company publicly announced that both vocalist Tsuzuku and bassist Koichi had terminated their contracts with the firm, thereby placing Mejibray on an indefinite hiatus and leaving the future of the project uncertain.
