@sandeater17: Gary Plauché was the father of 11-year-old Jody Plauché. Jody's karate instructor, Jeffrey Doucet, had sexually abused and kidnapped him. Police rescued Jody and arrested Doucet. A few weeks later, on March 16, 1984, Doucet was being escorted through an airport in Baton Rouge while in police custody. Gary Plauché waited nearby, approached as Doucet passed, and shot him once in the head at close range. The incident was captured by a television news camera and became one of the most famous pieces of crime footage in U.S. history. Doucet died the next day. Plauché was arrested and charged, but later pleaded no contest to manslaughter. He received probation and community service rather than prison time. The case remains controversial. Many people sympathized with Gary because of what happened to his son, while others argued that killing someone who was already under arrest bypassed the legal justice system. The phrase most associated with Gary came after the shooting, when he reportedly said: "If somebody did it to your kid, you'd do it too." #garyplauché #viral #fyp #antipedo #disturbing
