Found this as a teen while I was just surfing the radio dial. Heard it, cried, waited for the title, checked it out of the Library the next day. Tch 5 started my love for classical music.

Story goes,Toscanini greatly berated his principal horn player for playing out of tune during rehearsal…at the next rehearsal the horn player played it natural, no valves, and Toscanini then complimented him for playing it correctly!

practicing this in college made me cry more times than i’d like to admit out of frustration. but now as a more experienced musician, it brings the good tears to my eyes. and i can play it right now, too🥹
