ACHILLES RUPTURE | Week 6 to 8 Post Surgery GOAL: Remove heel wedges in CAM Boot, wean off mobility aids and begin walking without crutches, continue to progress ankle range of motion beginning to move past plantar grade. This fortnight: ✨Had my surgical review and all is apparently going well 🤪 ✨Ditched the crutches!!! Shout out to the @adidas Gazelle Bold’s for being the exact height of a moon boot and the @ASICS Novablasts for also being a very close height comparison, my hips and back are very thankful for the symmetry. ✨Added some more exercises to my rehab pathway; hello single leg press, resisted ankle exercises and pedalling in a sneaker instead of a boot!!! Can we talk about how weird it is to put a shoe on again after 8 weeks??? ✨Enjoyed life again … including getting carried into Optus Stadium (princess treatment) and a ride on the mobility shuttle👸🏽 I feel like I’m so close to the “finish line” in terms of healing from my surgery and it’s so nice to actually feel little twitches of muscle activation in my calf again. It is truly such a bizarre feeling to have to teach your body how to switch on and move again. I know there is such a long way to go and this is only the beginning, but it’s almost time to wean out of my boot and get into the next phase of rehab (and also return to my proper physio job)! Remember this is just a video diary of my experience and not medical advice. If you’re on the same journey, please talk to your medical professionals about your rehab before trying anything you see online ❤️ #achilles #achillesrehab #achillessurgery #injuryrecovery #sportsrehab
