well this is unique to private credit. normal banks like we use are still good. and personally, I'm good with billionaires losing money.

The rules did not change for PE investments. PE funds have terms when you invest and they are not liquid like stocks, etfs, bonds, etc. Those terms were present and part of the investment from the beginning. The issue is, they were opened up to uneducated retail investors, who either did not research the fund or did not understand how it works.
