She was terrified he’d see her without her eyelashes in the middle of the night. She never did tell me how the story ended, but we got a good laugh from it. At the time of the huge earthquake in California in 1971, she and Elvis were staying in the penthouse of a famous hotel in Las Vegas. She said that they could feel the building swaying back and forth during the earthquake. Although it was terrifying, she said she wasn’t afraid because she knew that nothing would happen to her when she was with Elvis. Another time they were on a flight when the airplane hit very rough turbulence. They thought they were going to crash, but Priscilla knew that they wouldn’t because Elvis was sitting right next to her.
