I held the steering wheel with both hands on my test and since then I have drove one handed

My dad has hand accelerator / break.... So yeah. As long as you are in control, make the instructor feel safe... You will be fine.

You can steer with your feet if you want , as long as you’ve got control .

When I took my test late 70’s so strict and very difficult to get conversion out of them. Crossing your arms could have been failure then!

yeah i passed holding steering with one hand they were fine as had full control.

The problem is parents/older drivers don’t do cpd, they stick to how they learned and want to pass their knowledge on.
