If you can save over $2000, this would be worth it, even if the room is not your first choice. Most of your day is probably going to be spent doing other things besides sitting in your room.

I do the same thing with Royal Caribbean and do it straight through their app. They are the only cruise line I have found that do it straight through them for their cabins. I have booked no more than 6 weeks out for a RC cruise. Highly recommend doing this!
