The issue is that the billion dollar company is not paying the employees a wage that represents the profits they rake in, and the accumulation of wealth past a certain point is just withholding money from the economy that would otherwise stimulate it. Profit sharing is exceptionally rare. The main issue is people don’t talk about all the different ways someone could become a billionaire. Regardless, that amount of wealth is absurd. Capitalism is basically a board game. Would you say a game with 3 billion players losing and 2000 people raking in all the money is a fair game? Or one that needs some serious balancing issues. We have people starving, not getting healthcare, underemployed with tons of education, all because our economy is under-stimulated from wealth hoarding and speculative assets that dont even make profits.

That's maybe one exception. You can't use all professional athletes to deny the fact that billionaires don't directly earn their wealth. They extract that wealth by price gouging and paying employees less than what they should among other things. You are trying to make an argument off of something that is different than the point being made.

I think what she is saying is, most people that have a billion dollars didn't start with nothing. so to go from the majority of people who have nothing to having a billion dollars doesn't happen in reality

It would be more accurate to say that the “market value” of Le Bron is over a billion but remember he only has that because of the arena, the marketing, the league, etc, and all the employees of of all those places are paid peanuts by comparison

I hate the o if this job didn't exist you wouldn't have a job. that's the most elitist douchbag view that slave owners had. They wouldn't be doing anything without this. Wrong Adam Smith father of economics states that necessity causes people to create jobs for themselves. A company cannot exist without someone to work it.
