The cutting off of water is not for no reason, especially in older buildings. Someone in the building has a leak or other plumbing issue, and the individual units don't have water shut-off control (they're not isolated).

our office hours are 10-5 monday-friday, when most of our tenants are at work. and we will NEVER answer our phones. hell sometimes we just close up the office at 2pm and go home cuz we just don’t wanna be there

One day we walked outside to go on a picnic and they took our stairs. Like completely gone and we live on the 2nd floor. Turns out they were replacing them so we were just stuck inside for a few hours??? It was absolutely news to us.
