@Julie💙: @Julie💙: Baker here🤚 and if I were to bake this cake. 1: would i blanch my lemons quickly in boiling water, So boil the water and when it’s at the highest boiling point put my lemons in the pot 3: Give them 1-2 minutes or until they not as firm as before, but neither is soggy so the juice doesn’t runs out. 4: let them cool of a little, so you at least can touch them but they still are a little hot warm 5: course cut the lemons and remove the seeds. 6: put all ingredients in one. Tip: put a little more than a pinch salt, and instead of vanilla can you also use almond extract or half almond half vanilla. 7 :blend in blender but be careful not to over blend it and only to where there no more clumps. Tip: use a strainer for the lemon blend and flour, and slowly fold the dry ingredients as flour with the lemon blend, so you don’t beat the air out of the batter. 8: Another tip before baking is taking 2 egg yolks mixed with a tiny bit water and tiny amount of salt beat together and brush it over the top of the cake and let bake with a light layer on top, for a more brown look. 9: make a sirup of either water or egg whites and powder suger with the juice and peel for either of a citron or lime. And decorate with candied lime/limon weels or normal/ edible flowers😊

Take two lemons, juice them, add sugar. Poke holes in the existing loaf with a toothpick. Pour that lemon sugar on top. Refrigerate overnight. Slice and enjoy.

I don't think you added enough salt. Salt brings out flavour and activates the baking powder. Yours didn't rise as much as the other guy's, so I am thinking the baking powder didn't get activated as much. Or just add another lemon to the recipe.

For the one you just made, poke holes in the cake and pour more glaze over. That will up the lemon flavour. For the next loaf, add the zest of another lemon into the batter. I follow a different recipe and I zest 2-3 lemons

use powdered sugar to mix w the lemon juice and add waay more. it will be moist and very lemon. plus powdered sugar devolves a lot better and makes the texture a lot better

she only boiled the lemon to remove the wax coating that keeps the clean and looking fresh. not long enough to boil it as it will dull the flavour of lemon

if you still have the loaf stab all over the top (add it back into your tin) then drizzle the sugar lemon mix all over and id use atleast 1 more lemons worth of juice if not 2 and it'll make it more lemony. If you like sweet food id recommend a layer of granulated sugar on top before you pour the lemon juice and it makes a crunchy top
