@rendezvousgaming: This one has been more than a little annoying at times #sidehustle #sidehustleforbeginners #businessideas #workfromhome #partyrentals
Don’t ask them when. Instead offer them “available pick up times” and require it at the time of payment & put it in print. This will require them to contact you if they need to adjust it.

I saw your videos, spent thousands of dollars on party rental items and then within a few months the competition in my area exploded. I think everyone saw your videos... Ive only made like 3 sales 😞

I offer a pick up window between 6pm and 8pm either Thursday or Friday. No exceptions. I let my customers know that the weekends are reserved for onsite event setups and we’re not available for pickups. So far it has worked out well for us.

I have my listings on Facebook marketplace and I hate it when I get someone messaging me if I have this available and I reply yes which items and they read it and no reply back or today I received a message so I have anything for rent today. I said yes which items, they read it and no replies. That’s so frustrating

When I touch base with my customers re: pick up times, I’ve found it’s much easier to give them a window to work within instead of leaving the whole day open to pick a time. So I ask if they plan on coming by in the morning or afternoon and the say ok we can do something between 8-11 or 3-6 (or whatever times you want to make up). Seems like starting w some structure gets them to give a more concrete time.

Welcome to the real party rental business. That’s why we would tell them we close 1hr earlier than we do.

So currently I am not too big. But I bought a shed and put a padlock on it. I put the rentals in there and they have the ability to come whenever they want. I change the lock code every week. And just send it out to the customer with everything else. I also label each thing with their name so they don’t get confused. It’s work so far!

I rent out 1 bounce house and the day I drop off it started raining LIGHTLY and the renter stated they didn’t use it at all, I’m still not sure but I ended up just refunding half. It felt like a loss until we got a last minute rental Sunday and charged $105 total 🎉

I run a rental venue. I send them blocks like the grocery store pick up times. But people are flaky as eff. If I have to go back to work because they couldn't get it together they get billed for 2 hours of my wages (as an employee I get paid for 2 hours, even if it only takes me 5 minutes).

I had 2 cornhole boards from different sets get broken in this last 2 weeks. I just made a new set from the 2 good ones. The first was the boys and girls club, the relationship is important so I chose not to charge. The 2nd took care of everything and it was a high dollar contact where she took care of everything, I let it pass after talking w her. I knew I was going to put the 2 sets together.

I would determine the pick up time instead of putting the ball in their court. I’d put it in the contract that they sign so they know when they have to make arrangements to pick up.

Create an intake form with your contract and force them into a time schedule. Start with a 2 hour window and then make them do a 15 minute window 48 hours in advance. Let add a fee for not meeting that if you need to

I rented from a company and it was her policy that I pick up between 9-10am and return the same time the next day. Maybe that would work for you.

On July 4th, I'll have been an llc for a year. Last month was my first month with income.
We're all out here trying to look great, but it's scruffy getting this stuff off the ground sometimes!

My problem is getting started. Im a thinkers a perfectionist (which are bad qualities). So, I'll be jumping in soon.
As for the pick up, I would give the the optin time I have available. Take it or leave it.

I have ran into this issue too with my yard game rentals. I have made it a requirement to put the pick up time in the contract. So they need to tell me a 2 hour window before I write up the contract. And this has seemed to help in my community eliminate this issue.
