@globalnomad2030: In 1990 South Africa let go of a whole country but kept one port for 4 more years. ⠀ Walvis Bay is Namibia's only deep water port. South Africa said it was theirs by inheritance, Britain took it in 1878, so when Namibia said the port is ours, South Africa said no and sent in troops. ⠀ It only came back in 1994, the same moment apartheid ended. ⠀ Independence is one thing.
