It's not selfish. Camryn needs a safe space that meets her needs. You & your husband need space for yourselves as well. Please don't discount having space for you to get refreshed and recharged. It's important too.

I don’t think you’re selfish at all. It’s important for us to have things that bring us joy, as well as having a safe place for our kids. Totally support you!!! Being a caretaker is f’n hard. Especially when it starts stripping us of simple pleasures. It’s hard not to lose ourselves in all of the mix.

You are not selfish at all. Please don’t listen to negativity. Have you exhausted all options for her to be in another care home with 24 hour care? No judgment just thinking long term as you and your husband get older and with your own mental and physical health at least she would be in a safe environment. Just considering if anything would happen to you or your husband and your ability to care for her. But I trust you have weighed all your options.
