It's a childhood wound. At some point in your childhood you felt emotionally abandoned so when you didn’t receive, you try to prove yourself to feel worthy so you subconsciously chase that validation from that person. You have to heal the root cause of it internally by rewiring your core beliefs. Highly recommend reading Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson, it's a wonderful book.

“Does it get better?” Yes it does. Stop watching sad videos that pop up on ur fyp even if they’re relatable. Change ur fyp to people giving motivation and doing little aesthetic morning routines. Change your music, get rid of all your sad music and change it to happy hype songs. Go on a walk everyday, even if it’s 5 minutes. And if your religious start going to church every Sunday and get closer to God. Sometimes your body is ready to move on from being depressed but ur mind doesn’t want too 🫶
