@dutchbreakingnews: Amsterdam recently banned meat advertisements to fight climate change, but Burger King found a clever way around it by flooding the city with massive "veggie" burgers that look identical to the real thing. While politicians call the move misleading, the fast-food giant is using a "grace period" lasting until 2027 to legally challenge the boundaries of the new law. It’s a masterclass in guerrilla marketing that proves even the strictest regulations have a loophole if you look closely enough. #netherlands #europe #holland #amsterdam #eindhoven #rotterdam #denhaag #belgium #germany

how is this bypassing? this is exactly what they all wanted. not only is there no meat being advertised, bk is even advertising plant based alternatives. this is exactly what was being aimed for.

I understand the reason, we all do, meat production and fossil fuels are associated to climate change. But what's the evidence that prohibiting adds will reduce meat consumption? are there no other more effective measures the government should be putting their attention on and work on it? Like investing in new ways to eat or travel? Innovation is what will save the planet , not baseless laws.

that's literally what the ban was for, yes. it's not a "clever workaround", they wanted to prove we can force corporations into giving us healthier choices instead of pushing for the most harmful every time

Sooo will they ban advertising of vegan food which is not strictly allergy neutral to or is it ok to risk people’s health by advertising potentially harmful products…?

I never really cared one bit and I just thought in passing “well they’ll just say it Isn’t meat” and that’s exactly what they did. They had to know that was coming.
