@pauldamianelegy: My reading of the poem “Nu plânge” ( Don’t cry ) by Romanian poetess: Veronica Micle. I’ve done a pretty free translation of her poem and attached it down below as well, right after the Romanian one. Nu plânge că te dau uitării, Și nici nu plânge că te las… Sosit-a ceasu-nstrăinării Și ceasul bunului rămas. Se rupe-un lanț plin de tărie Ca firul cel mai subțirel; Când soarta vrea așa să fie, Zadarnic vrei să faci altfel. Și nu mai e nimic în stare Să-ntoarcă vremile-napoi Și-acea iubire-atât de mare Ce-a fost odată între noi. Rămâi tu, dar rămâi cu bine, Rămâi cu suflet liniştit… Un dor se duce și-altul vine Și vei uita că te-am iubit.
