I think what a lot of people don’t realize is that you only have to teach a single robot how to do a specific task and then every single robot on earth will know how to do that task, because you can just upload the process to the cloud and they all will have access to it. I used to be a lab tech. Everything I did was either a physical process (for example: picking up a graduated cylinder, filling it with water to a specific level, adding it to a beaker with some powder I weighed out and turning on the magnetic stirrer), or working with data. All of those things could be done with AI and robotics right now. And all I would have to do is train this robot to do those jobs. At that point I have put thousands of people out of work around the world. And when those newly unemployed people start looking for new jobs, they will quickly realize there aren’t any. Because those jobs have all been automated as well.
