I agree with you. There’s no winners in this one either the cop gets knocked out and gets his gun taken on a guy that already showed a propensity for violence. It is what it is. Of course the Internet use of force experts will say otherwise. Only tells me they’ve never been in a fight like that.

Sorry my man, can’t justify this unless he was a homicide suspect. Time was on his side, call code-3 back and wait. In addition, biggest factor is go back to the academy with training and files and guarantee their POST will say they don’t teach this. Bad shoot.. He was scared

Just because a suspect is unarmed doesn’t mean they can’t gain control of the officer’s weapon. Had backup been present, the suspect been smaller/not exhibiting signs of drug use, or had the suspect been peaceful prior to arrival, I think it would lean towards unreasonable.

Not a good shoot at all. They are correct to fire and charge him. Coming from another cop. It’s bad all day, and cops on the department don’t support this as a good shoot either… it’s BAD.

I get it, I’ve dealt with hundreds of people on PCP. However, when someone is unarmed, 9 times out of 10 the shooting isn’t going to be ruled justified without exigent circumstances that didn’t exist here.

The guy may have been naked and appeared to be unarmed, but he was definitely going after the officer who had a gun, so there is a gun in play. The narrator is correct. There's enough reasonableness to justify the incident.
