I tried to buy a house and got told to get into a relationship and buy with them because I can't afford it on my own. The whole "you need a man" is still happening in 2026 🤦‍♀️

I’m a younger Gen X and am so angry I spent my life lifting others up while they just used me and left me to fend for myself. No one has EVER helped me in life with ANYTHING - they assume I don’t need it or they just don’t care enough 🤷‍♀️I’m done. Everything I do now is for myself and my son (who I raised alone after his Dad left me during ivf of course)

I’m 44 and I feel like I’m listening to myself. Minus the debt but no retirement or property. It sucks, don’t know the solution

57 here, so many of us are just starting over post divorce and kids. I was that person 2 kids, career and never thought I would be sitting here sick and grieving the life I thought I would have. It’s kinda mind blowing how quickly things change.

Omg I’m so glad to see this post and know I’m not the only one. Turning 44 this year and working a great job with great income but has zero pension. 2 kids and separated . Feel burnt out and like what do I do?

I'm 54 and just walked out of my 30yr relationship, and I'm shitting myself starting over, but the peace I'm starting to feel after losing a 55yr old toddler is grounding. I'm up to my eyeballs in debt, invisible to most, but I've got years in me left and the amount of fucks I care is LIBERATING. Gen X ladies we are worth so much more ❤️

I really feel like we were the gap generation who weren't offered alot of support that was either cancelled before were were eligible i.e free university or benefits came after we needed it. i.e paid maternity leave, first home grants (in NZ). I dont begrudge others who are able to access these things but it does suck!

I'm 45 in Sydney, and as a kid, I always felt like I wasn't good enough. That feeling has stuck with me my whole life. So, I've never gotten married or had kids, but I've built up my wealth so I can retire before 50 on double the average wage, and I still feel like I haven't done enough.
