I realize that this about addiction, but when someone has lost themselves to chronic illness, they miss the way they used be. The natural high on life . I started crying during this song, because can I relate to it, not the addiction part, just missing who I used to be.

My daughter deals with the same thing. She chose the “highs” and lows over stability… she disappeared and I haven’t seen or hugged her in 10 years. It’s worth it Lola. p.s. I just love your music and you look stunning 🥰♥️

For me, the high is the life I had when I was social, outgoing, engaging, proactive in my life. Now I just sit at home and barely leave the house. I can’t handle big crowds, noise, or even errands. It’s like I just stopped living and went into autopilot to the most basic level of doing things.

It’s not quite the same I know but this is exactly how I felt when I began taking meds for my bipolar - half here, half there, a clumsier and more exposed version of person I was used to being. I desperately missed the highs (and still do) but they were never safe and eventually would have destroyed my life. My future feels a lot brighter now without the high highs and the low lows and yours will too one day, I promise ♥️
