in portuguese SOUND as in SAFE AND SOUND is an homograph to SAINT/SAN. And the same word is a to be verb conjugation (SÃO as is they are - eles são). SOUND as something you hear is SOM. It's very close still miles away. linguistics are very fun to learn about indeed

Most people don't know because stupid teachers never ever told or taught.Actually, it looks as if you have just known it as well, but I have known for quite a while : all or almost all vocabulary in English can be multiple parts of speech naturally by either not adding any suffix or adding suffixes: produce can be noun and verb with completely different in meaning, while walk can be multiple parts of speech as well,as in walk as a verb, walking as a noun in a gerund named , present participle acting adjectivelly, and present participle acting adverbially.
