@truecrimeuncensoredd: In August 2022, 19 year old McKenzie Shirilla deliberately drove her car into a concrete wall at over 100mph in Strongsville, Ohio — killing her boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and his friend Davion Flanagan, 19. Both were asleep in the car. The car's black box showed no braking and no swerving. Just full acceleration into the wall. Investigators also discovered she had searched "how fast do you have to go to die in a car crash" in the weeks before the crash. Friends and family testified about a volatile and controlling relationship between McKenzie and Dominic in the months leading up to that night. Recorded phone calls showed her threatening to break into his house and demanding access to him at all times. In 2023 McKenzie chose a bench trial — just one judge deciding her fate. Judge Deborah Nicastro found her guilty of two counts of murder, calling it a calculated and intentional act with no other explanation. She was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison.
