Basically saying to your wife “you’re like my mother” is a really offensive insult and people knew that at the time

The verse isn’t talking about men loving their mothers too much. It’s talking about a man calling his wife his mother, which was a practice in pre-Islamic Arabia. Different topic entirely. والله أعلم.

Sis, in the kindest way possible you really should delete this. It’s okay to make mistakes. But you need to be very careful about speaking on things you may not fully understand and spreading misinformation. Particularly when you’re claiming it’s something Allah did. That’s a hefty claim to make. ♥️

Dakarz :
This verse addresses the pre-Islamic Arab practice of ẓihār, where a husband would say to his wife something like, “You are to me like my mother’s back.” Such a statement was used to sever marital relations without formally divorcing the wife, leaving her in a difficult social and legal position. The verse rejects this practice, stating that a wife does not become one’s mother through such words and that the statement is false and objectionable.

this is about divorce “you are like a mother to me” or any other of the mahaarim is the same as one divorce and isn’t to be taken any lighter, not about a literal comparison between a wife and a mother.

LMFAO ARE YOU OKAY🤣😂🤣😂🤣. this is for Zihaar. a phrase Arabs use to day which would make their wife haram upon them. Islam introduced this ayah because it also introduced an expiation for that, which before didn't exist. this is why people must study

This is false, the context of this ayah is because Arabs used an evil expression to insult their wives and in that expression they compare them to the back of their mothers saying they have no physical attractions for their wives. It has nothing to do with "mommy's boys" rather you are just projecting your thoughts instead of looking the tafseer of an ayah, but Allah knows best.

This ayah means something completely different, but seemingly you don't know the context of the surah, nor have you read Tafsir about the ayah, and you post it claiming it talks about Mommy's boys. Fear Allah ﷻ and don't lie/speak without knowledge about His book! The Ayah talks about men who informally divorce their wives with a saying the Arabs used (It's called إظهار, the ayah literally says إن الذين يظاهرون meaning "those who do Idhaar") which is saying "You're like the back of my mother" and that's where the word comes from, from ظهر which means back. The context of why the surah was sent down is adressed in the verse before. A woman had a dispute with her husband and he did Idhaar to her so she went to Rasulullah ﷺ to complain about him And Allah ﷻ reprimands the people who divorce their wives with Idhaar and says this is a disgusting thing by explaining the way He ﷻ does (a man's wive is not like his mother) in the second verse you're showing in the slide
