In this video, Fai Thong is simply trying to cool himself down and wash away the dust and exhaustion. But even this small comfort has been taken from him. Instead of being properly cared for, he is left to struggle with a tiny water pipe, filling his trunk over and over just to splash water onto his own body. Watching him broke our hearts. His tusks have been allowed to grow so long that they now interfere with his daily life. They are heavy, cumbersome, and make simple movements more difficult. Yet nobody seems willing to give him the basic care he deserves. Fai Thong deserves more than endless work, neglect, and loneliness. Laos Giants is determined to help him, but we cannot do it alone.
