Bernie and AOC really dropped the ball not endorsing him. If Steyer makes the top two it would be absolutely crucial he gets those endorsements.

If FDR ran today he’d lose to some slopulist with a billion corporate backers calling him too rich, very sad what California has chosen.

Hard to quantify the effect of all the Becerra bots flooding socials making it appear as if he had a large base of grass root support. If Becerra had appeared as nonviable as he was before Swalwell dropped out (5%) I think more people would have given Steyer a second look.

Personally, my biggest gripe with Steyer has always been his reasoning - he has, and this point, spent hundreds of millions of dollars on the multiple failed campaigns he has run. IF he truly cared about all of the issues he says he does, he could have used that money to fix them, outright. But he doesn’t. Because it isn’t about policies for him - it’s about power. He’s never held elected office, why should I believe he will follow through on any of the promises he’s making?

As a Bernie to Becerra voter, Steyer having spent his whole career pouring money into democratic causes and having absolutely no friends to show for it made me question his integrity.

Tom Steyer lost because he had no governing experience and the negative ads against a fellow democrat.

I think there just were a lot of people who couldn’t get passed him being a billionaire, which I get. I voted for him but it was kinda meh. He didn’t have the best campaign also. He was to the left but still not great on stuff (I saw he said he doesn’t support love term rent control…sigh)

A rich guy can be socialist as well, one of the biggest icons of the social Democratic movement is Olof Palme which can from a upper class family

Steyer would win in Republican vote 100% if he can position himself as an outsider. I think he’ll also make some gains among the dems due to the overwhelming progressive sadness at his supposed loss which will like shock some ppl out of the “but he’s a billionaire” stupor. But also like still not the favourite in a general

I don’t think he’ll make it to the top 2 even if it’s still possible. But I’m more bullish on his chances if in the off chance he makes it to the top 2 purely because he has so much money and really only had a few weeks to focus on Becerra. 5 months is a long time when you have virtually unlimited resources

Same thing goes with LA mayor. There’s a chance Spencer Pratt doesn’t make the top 2.

I made a vow in 2016 to never vote for a rich business with no political experience. I’m sticking to my word no matter what Steyer says

FDR started his political career as a NY state senator at the age of 28. Steyer is trying to start a political career at 68 as the governor of the 4th largest economy in the world with zero experience in governance and just lots of empty promises

His policies are pretty standard for most democrats, don't get the hype surrounding him. If he spent more time going after Hilton instead of running a dirty campaign and attacking Becerra he might have had a chance.

Two time Bernie voter to Becerra voter here. As if I’d ever vote for a private prison building, coal mine funding, oil sands drilling, billionaire who we cannot trust. He couldn’t even say what was happening in Plstn
