@birdlounge: Yesterday’s video about this little diamond dove sparked a huge debate. Some people think it’s fixable. Others think it isn’t. I’ve had advice, criticism, offers to take the bird on, and plenty of opinions from both sides. So I wanted to give an update and ask one simple question… What would you do if this was your bird? Let me know below.
Update on the little diamond dove.
After reading through all the comments and speaking to a few people, I’ve now had two different pigeon rescues offer to take the bird on. Both believe there’s a chance it could improve with the right care and setup, so I’ve decided to let the little guy go with them and see what the future holds.
I genuinely can’t believe how many different opinions came from one short video. It’s been fascinating reading the comments across Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Some people think it’s one thing, others are convinced it’s something completely different, which just shows how difficult it can be to know exactly what’s going on from a short clip online.
At the end of the day, I’m just documenting the realities of bird keeping, the good and the bad, and sharing the journey as it happens.
Hopefully we’ll get some positive updates on the little dove in the future. 🤞

alot of illness tend to mimic each other in symptoms so it would need testing. let them give it the chance to live.

pigeons that look like that normally is pmv ' which they can get over it but its not worth it as they can become a carrier and pass it on to your other birds + if bird ever gets put back into any form of stress it comes back been here before ' im a pigeon fancy of over 40 years of experience only one place for that bin

personally if that diamond dove (I think) was mine I would take it to the veterinarian and see what the veterinarian says and if it needs to stay at the veterinarian I would give it to them and hope for the best hope this helped

Better of getting rid, more than likely never be right and a risk to your other birds.

It's so hard. I personally don't like to give up on any bird but if someone is prepared to look after it why not. If they can make it better why not? I cannot cull any bird. Give it a chance via the other person. Good luck.
