Part of how I express my love for my partner is by creating a space that allows him to relax and have delicious dinners we enjoy together. He shows up emotionally for me (and our family) and makes me feel completely loved and accepted as I am. He doesn’t expect anything I do for him and he cooks and cleans as much as I do, but I love showing up in that way for him. We’ve been married 20 years and have created the family I wanted and wished I had when I was a kid. It’s incredibly fulfilling to have kids whose parents genuinely adore each other. Not all relationships with traditional roles are terrible.
