It’s tough figuring it all out for sure. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis the year i turned 26 and several other diagnoses since and figuring all that out that plus insurance and managing work, doctors, and the constant need to rest is hard. But I did move out at 28 and am handling things for the most part. The money anxiety is definitely real bc i only work two part time jobs instead of something full time. Always happy to chat if you need someone who’s also going through it to talk to ❤️

My dr actually asked me if my childhood was traumatic when I was diagnosed. He said that when he sees Eds and severe gastroparesis at a young age, he’s seen that typically trauma has played a role in it appearing so severely at a young age. And when I look at my fellow chronic baddies, I have started to see that adds up!

Yesterday my shoulder surgeon asked me how I stay so upbeat and positive all the time and I totally broke down on her. It was like when someone asks you how you’re “really doing” and you just break because you’ve been playing the tough girl for so long. I don’t think it was the reaction she was looking for. 😂
