My fiancé is from a really nice, quiet part of Connecticut, parents are still together, planned each of their children, bought their house before they even got married, all of his family members are still alive, married, and healthy. I’m from East LA, I was an accident baby that my parents only got married for bc I was an accident, my dad was a drug user with a major anger issue that ended up in confinement, mom left when I was 13 then passed away, we ended up homeless living out of a van for two years when I was 12, and there’s way more lol. He’s traumatized every time something seeps its way out of me 💀

I have put a damper on many of family dinners before. Telling my story, and then realize everybody has stopped eating and it’s just staring at me. Whoops!! I don’t always realize some things weren’t normal 🫣
