My #1 advice to anyone looking at a garden unit is check if it's in a flood zone & if the owner has a sump pump on the property. Learned that the hard way when I 1st moved to Chicago

Over the last 10 years, I have lived in two different garden apartment units. I’ve never had an issue with rodents or flooding. It’s also extremely affordable. It’s a good hack if you find a good one!

first apartment in chicago, was a garden unit Southport corridor, 2 bed with in unit and parking for 1400, we stayed there for 3 years. I honestly would have never left 🤣
