reflections of a worshiper: (long post!) i’ve been very impacted lately at the reality of God’s worth and his true love over us. GOD’S WORTH: in a sermon i listened to recently by @Camilo Buchanan he listed out 10 implications of God’s declaration of Himself as the “I AM” and why it should matter/its importance to us. before this moment, God had already been dealing with my heart prior and had me processing what it truly means for God to be worthy/worth it all. Camilo lands on point 10 saying, because God says He is the “I AM,” that means that “nothing is worth more.” that nothing truly compares. while this was the same rhetoric i have heard about God before, it took on a new meaning in my heart. Camilo continued saying that the reason it matters that nothing is worth more than God, is because it communicates that nothing is wasted with Him/in His hands. so you can choose to put God first over and over and over again, you can choose to spend hours upon hours with Him, you can choose to go to the altar and hand everything over to Him and not one moment would be wasted. there is truly no place else to be, no better time to be spent, no person worth seeing more than God himself. and this truly exposes our hearts faulty belief system when we choose other things, moments, places, over God’s presence. it just simply doesn’t make sense, and this reality changed the way that i worship, and the way i prioritize my time and resources. GOD’S LOVE: when it comes to God’s love for us; the Lord had me processing King David in the Psalms and how he, without fail, talks about God’s unfailing love and putting his trust in it. the Lord had me questioning, what was it that the man after God’s own heart understood about God that He kept referring to His unfailing love? fast forward just a little bit and in reading the story of Hannah, i saw how Hannah not only stayed committed to her vow to the Lord of dedicating Samuel to God, but how she doesn’t ask God for another child after having fought so hard for the one she received. instead we see praise and worship come from her lips: “Then Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me. No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬ i walked away with this revelation from the Lord: “The people in this world who have done great things, are the people who have dared to believe and are convinced that God loves them and would do anything for them.” - “i am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 for Hannah it wasn’t just about being able to conceive. for David it wasn’t just about having victory over his enemies. for us, it can’t just be about the destination and an end result. it’s about what the lack of these things speak to us about our core/identity. it’s about what they speak of in defiance of God. Hannah didn’t ask for another child after Samuel, because she found out that God cared, and that He would do anything for her. this was enough for her, and it should be enough for you and me. if you made it to the end, GOD BLESS YOU AND JESUS 🫶🏽 YOU! #worshiper #deepthoughts #reflection #worthit #theology
