Emotions are body sensations mixed with stories. Neither of them are you. Imagine sitting beside a river. Every thought is a leaf floating downstream. Every emotion is another leaf. You don’t need to grab them. You don’t need to stop them. You don’t need to analyse them. Just watch them pass. The more you practise this, the more you discover something incredible: There is a part of you that has been present through every thought, every emotion, and every experience you’ve ever had.
