had a customer leave a envelope on the cluster on time that said "to my mechanic: I'm sorry you have to work on this. I tried myself and I made things worse. Get yourself some lunch on me and hopefully you won't hate me after you see how bad it is." along with a $20 bill. It made my day and it wasn't even that bad of a repair

Other things you can do: going in for an oil change? Drain the oil before driving to the shop! Getting tires swapped? Try loosening the lug nuts or bolts the day before so the wheels come off easy! Working on your radiator? Make sure to warm up the car by driving for at least half an hour before your appointment!

when I go to the shop, all lights are off, seat memory 3 all the way back (for the 7 foot 14 tech) and the tire key is in the center or given to the advisor

TY customer removed the pain in the ass plastic lug bolt caps that are a pain in the ass to take off and left them in a zip lock bag for mechanic to put back on when done. TY

i usually buy the parts to the car beforehand when i know what the repair is and put them in the car so they don’t have to waste time looking for parts and i save a little money

took my car to the dealer today for one of the free oil changes i got after buying it and left a redbull in the cupholder for him. it made it into the video MPI with him thanking me lol

I tried leaving a nice note and a redbull last time I went and they placed it back like it was untouched. It was a corporate shop not local so idk if there is a policy against it but like..atp with prices might as well work on my own ride and treat myself
