OEM doesn’t make parts. They never have, never will. OEM parts are made in production runs, those parts go on the cars. That’s when the OEM is involved. They have oversight (very minimal) and they have quality control over those parts. As soon as the production run ends, those parts suppliers that work with OEM, stop making those parts and move forward to the new parts for other cars. The quality of aftermarket parts, which are also sold at dealerships, goes down immediately. Because all the big name brands are owned by a very small group of conglomerates. Profit over everything means quality is shit. One of the big conglomerates just went bankrupt, which is why FRAM filters is effectively gone. Atleast until the next big conglomerate buys the brand name and starts making cheaper parts under that name.

That’s ganna be the thing about large auto parts companies they tend to buy some things in bulk and may not sell but they will hold it same thing with tires you should be checking date codes when you get them who knows if they bought them in 2015 and never sold them till you bought them

I stopped buying from AutoZone years ago because their parts would fail incredibly soon or I'd get bad parts right out of the box. I know it can happen with any part, but it happened to me way more often there. Depending on what part I need, I usually find the OEM supplier and get it from Napa or RockAuto for dirt cheap. RockAuto just hits the pockets with shipping sometimes 😭
