A very good friend and I parted ways and I reached out to them to kinda chat about what happened and perhaps reconcile. I really wish I hadn't because that person wasn't angry or upset but they absolutely didn't want to reconcile at all.

Sometimes people reach out because you were their feel-good space. When they look back on a happy season of their life, you were part of it. What they remember fondly may have been a very different experience for you maybe not a great one at all. But they're trying to reconnect with the version of the relationship that made them feel good.

Oh my! My stepfather! My mother passed in 94 and he remarried in early 2000s. As I’ve gotten older he completely stopped. He always come through for me when I really need him but overall he never reaches out to me at all! Now I see that it could remind him of a past with my mother he rather leave behind 😭 damn
