Nope, you are talking about teachers in the same district correct? All those teachers work under the same contract. Teachers in one school shouldn’t get to work less day(s) because their principal is holding them to a different standard. That’s a leadership issue and the teaching staff is not going to forget it.

It sounds like some principle are using the 1st two days as flex days as well. So why doesn’t the district make them that? (Though PD at the end of the year is diabolical).

Yep, and this teacher retired and peaced out. These extra hours wear out good teachers while some staff got out of doing "required" time.

In my opinion as an administrator-NEVER have a PD day after the last day of school. Staff are tired, checked out, and won’t be engaged in the learning that should occur in PD. It’s a waste of time. Add a day on to start of year. Once teachers have had time to regroup.

This is why we do not have mandated days at the end of the year in our district. Teachers are so done by that point we went out when the kids are out. Seems like a waste of time to expect them to be there. We only have early back days.
