This is so true, I remember when NEWJEANS first debuted I was so weirded out by their songs, not because I didn’t like it but because it genuinely sounded so different from other Kpop song where they will scream into your ears and play these loud instruments that were recycled throughout all the 4th and 3rd gen. NEWJEANS just sounded so natural and their songs were so easy to listen to yk?

also I hope you guys will understand that New Jeans was like that BECAUSE of MHJ. She did the groundwork with f(x) and other sm groups. She made them, she handpicked them and gave them their music and aesthetic. You can't like this about said group and demonize a genius creative director who is brilliant at her job.

people dont realize how GOOD they were. they are on a hiatus inactive for YEARS. yet people? they keep playing their songs, even if people arent stans of kpop, they know the lyrics one by one. Take Super Shy. NewJeans impact is the same as BP IMPACT OKAYYY since BP influenced 4th gen, NewJeans CLEARLY influenced 5th gen. They were labeled as the fastest kpop group to rise, all in 2 YEARS.
